We are happy to announce the popular Mad Science is back! Registrations were sent home yesterday. The theme for this year is "Secret Agent Lab". Sessions will be held from 2:00-3:00 for K-2 students and 3:00-4:00 for grade 3-5 students. These sessions will begin in October; however, registration forms must be in to the school by Thursday, September 26.
Tomorrow is Picture Day at Harkins Elementary! The photographer will be here first thing in the morning. We will begin with the kindergarteners and work our way up to the grade 5's.
Our school fundraiser for the 2013-14 school year is drawing to a close. Please send your orders in to the school as soon as possible. We want to insure all orders are received in time for Christmas.
Reminder that the grade 2/3 is a go for Monday at 3:30 at Croft field. Also the 4/5 team plays its first game Tuesday in Blackville at 3:30. I hope to see all players out!
The game between the Harkins 4/5 soccer team and Gretna Green has been cancelled due to the weather. There will be a schedule going home to students today that will provide information on the upcoming games. The schedule will also be posted on the website.
The grade 2/3 soccer scrimmage that was supposed to take place today has been cancelled due to a weather forecast that includes severe thunder and heavy rain. The first scrimmage will now be held on Monday September 16th at Croft field for 3:30. Thanks
The scrimmage for students that have signed up for 2/3 soccer is still a go as of now. Please check the web page at 1:00 for an update to see if the scrimmage is cancelled. If there is a cancellation the scrimmage will then be held at Croft at 3:30 Monday September 16th.Thanks
Our Meet the Teacher will be held on Thursday, September 12, from 6:00-7:00. We will all meet briefly in the gym, followed by parents meeting with their child's teacher. We will then proceed to the main lobby where the Home and School has organized a reception. They have also planned a draw for a $25 grocery card. To be eligible, just sign up for Home and School that evening.
Welcome back to Harkins Elementary and the 2012-14 school year! We are excited to see everyone from last year, and of course to meet our new students. A reminder that school begins on Tuesday, September 3. Don't forget there is staggered entry for our kindergarten students.
