The staff of Harkins Elementary would like to wish our students and their families a Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing our students on Wednesday, January 9, 2013.
The Harkins Elementary Christmas Concert will take place Wednesday, December 18 in the gymnasium. It will begin at 9:30. Prior to the concert, the Home and School will be having a Bake Sale, along with selling tickets for the Loto Christmas Tree. The draw for the tree will take place immediately following the concert.
Harkins Elementary Home and School has a variety of activities planned to help us celebrate the Christmas season. Among these is the Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Claus night which will take place Dec. 11, from 6:00-7:30. See the attached memo for the complete list of Home and School plans .
The cafeteria will be having their annual Christmas Dinner on Wednesday, December 5. This will include turkey, potatoes, dressing, gravy, veggies, milk and dessert for $5.50. We ask that students bring their money in by Monday, Dec. 3 if they wish to purchase the dinner. Please note the only other item available on the menu that day is hamburgers.
On Tuesday, November 26 the grade 2-4 students will be going to Gretna Green to see author Sheree Fitch. Students will leave by bus at 8:40 and should be back just before recess.

Class pictures and Team pictures have arrived. Those who have already purchased pictures will receive them today. For those who would like to buy pictures, the class pictures can be bought for $2 each; the Cross Country and Soccer team photos can be bought for $5 each.
The Harkins Elementary Remembrance Ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 8 in the gymnasium. It will begin promptly at 9:30. Everyone is invited to attend.
