Here is an excerpt taken from our discussion about Sinterklaasfeest sent to us from the students in Groelno.                          Sinterklaasfeest (party) on Decembre 3Each year on Decembre 5 we celebrate Sinterklaas. He is coming by boot from Spain. Together with hiswhite horse Amerigo and a lot of zwarte (black) pieten. We eat then a lot of pepernoten and speculaas (both are cookies/biscuits)  Sinterklaas have also presents for the children. The zwarte pieten arein the night on the roof and throw the presents in the chimney. The children can also put a shoe somewhere in the room with a drawing for Sinterklaas and a carrot for the horse in their shoe. In the night take zwarte Piet this and put a little present back.Sinterklaas is very popular in Holland; more then Santa Claus!
