On Wednesday, December 7, the Home and School will have a Christmas Party from 6-7 p.m. in the gym. This will include a Christmas craft, milk and cookies (Santa's favourite!), pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and a storybook reading by a special guest (and it's not Santa!). As the Christmas season approaches Harkins Elementary will again be holding a food drive in support of the local Food Banks. In addition to helping support the Food Banks, each food item donated validates a ballot for a chance to win prizes provided by District 16 for our school - the more donations, the more chances to win ! There will be three draws for an IpadII for the student's classroom. The Home and School will be hosting a Halloween Party for students and their younger siblings on Thursday, October 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a Haunted Room, along with activities in the gym. Prizes will be given out. As well there will be a small canteen to purchase treats. Please note - children are not to be dropped off at the school. They must be accompanied by an adult. So put on your costumes and come join us for a fun-filled night!
Students will be travelling to Gretna Green Elementary on Monday morning for a presentation. This is an anti-bullying presentation called "The Bully and the Purple Pants".
Students will be leaving the school at 8:45 and be returning by 10:30.
Grade 4-5 students interested in putting on a school-wide drama production are asked to meet in the school library on Wednesday at noon.
The first drama meeting of the year will be held.
