As the Christmas season approaches Harkins Elementary will again be holding a food drive in support of the local Food Banks.  In addition to helping support the Food Banks, each food item donated validates a ballot for a chance to win prizes provided by District 16 for our school - the more donations, the more chances to win !  There will be three draws for an IpadII for the student's classroom.  In order to encourage our students to participate, we will be holding different activities on the last school day of the week until Christmas.  Cost to participate in each event is one item for the food bank or one loonie.  Although there are suggestions for each week, any food item is welcome.    Date Activity Suggested Items Thursday, November 3rd Crazy Hat day Kraft Dinner or a loonie Thursday, November 10th Pajama day cheese whiz, jam or can of soup Friday, November 18th Backwards day box of cereal or can of vegetables Friday, November 25th School colors day don't forget your face!  canned soup or box of crackers Thursday, December 1st Welcome to Christmas!  Wear your favorite Santa or Elf hat!  canned vegetables, canned beans, or canned spaghetti Friday, December 9th Pajama day box of spaghetti or macaroni, or spaghetti sauce Friday, December 16th Crazy Hat Day canned meat or canned fish
