The Cross Country Meet scheduled for today at England's Hollow-St. Andrews Elementary has been CANCELLED.

Parents/Guardians of children entering kindergarten in District 16 for the 2012-13 school year are asked to register between October 11th and 14th, 2011. Birth certificates and proof of immunization are required as part of the registration process.     Pre-school screening and information sessions for transition into school begin before the end of October. It is therefore very important that your child is registered. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the school.

Mad Science is back at Harkins Elementary with a new program. Registrations are being taken this week. The Mad Science program runs October 5 to November 9. The K-2 will be held on Wednesdays from 2:00 to 3:00; the grade 3-5 will be held on Wednesdays from 3:05 to 4:05. Students must have arranged transportation home. Check the purple forms sent home with your child for more details.

Harkins Elementary Meet the Teacher takes place Thursday, September 15 at 6:30. Parents are asked to first go to the gym, after which they will make their way to their child's classroom. The Home and School is hosting a reception in the main lobby afterward.

We would like to welcome everyone back to a new school year at Harkins and hope you enjoy your year !!!  Our September Newsletter and Calendar were sent home on Thursday and are posted on the website for your convenience. If your child has not purchased a school agenda there are still some available.  The cost is $7.00 each of $13.00/family. Please check back often for updates.

AIM (Adventures in Miramichi) is offering adventure camps this summer. Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Camp Sheldrake are also offering camps. If you are interested in more information, call the school and we will send the information regarding each camp home with your child.
