Now that the grade 5 math assessment is behind us, we are returning to our normal weekly class schedule. Today, our class has started reviewing for their Unit 8 test, scheduled for Tuesday of next week.

Thank-you so much to all parents and guardians (and others) who have contributed various baked goods for anoather successful bake sale this week. We are quickly approaching our financial goal. The grade 5 class is working very well (and hard) together to make our trip to Neguac a reality. They to be congratulated!

MEMO
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Because of the success of our two previous fundraisers (bake sale & freezie sale), our fund raising efforts are off to a great start. This week, the grade 5s will be having three more fund-raising activities at school.
Monday: Freezie Sale (purchased by the class)
Wedenesday: Bake Sale – baked goods from home would certainly be appreciated for this day (remember: no nuts).
Friday: Freezie Sale – (purchased by the class)
Also, if you are looking for an opportunity to get rid of that stock-pile of pennies, the grade 5 class is also having a penny drive.
Thank-you again for supporting our grade 5 class as we continue to raise the funds required for the end of the year trip to Neguac on June 16th..

In order to take full advantage of Mrs. Jackie Petrie, our district math mentor who's been helping Harkins Elem. student since last week, the grade 5 provincial math assessment which was suppposed to begin Thursday (today) has been postponed until Monday. Schools have until Thursday, June 2 to complete the assessments.

Today and Thursday, grade 5 students will be reviewing Unit 4 (Measurement) for our next unit test on Friday. Students are encouraged to bring their textbooks home to prepare for this test. Pages 158 & 159 in the text are the unit's review pages.
