Remembrance Day Ceremony

On Thursday, November 8th at 9:30am Harkins Elementary School will be having a ceremony in honor of Remembrance Day. I would like to invite you to come and participate with us as we acknowledge the sacrifices of the men and women who have served our country. My students, along with the students in Mrs. Corney's class have been preparing a poem and sent to present. We have been practicing in class and I will be sending home a copy of the poem/song for my students to practice as part of their homework. Hope to see you here! Fire Safety Week

Just a note to remind parents that this is Fire Safety Week. The Miramichi Fire Dept will be doing a fire safety presentation Tuesday morning for our students. An activity booklet including fire safety information was sent home today in the homework. Please try to take a few minutes to review fire safety in your home with your children.

Picture Day and Meet the Teacher

Just a friendly reminder to parents about upcoming events this week: Wednesday will be picture day in our school, beginning in the morning. Then on Thursday evening please come to our Meet the Teacher evening. I look forward to meeting you and sharing some of the wonderful things your children will be doing this year. Our Meet the Teacher begins in the gym at 6:30 and then you will have the opportunity to meet with me in our classroom. I look forward to seeing you! Mrs. Underhill

Spare clothes

We have been having a great time in our class! Your children are wonderful and we had lots of fun last week! I just wanted to remind parents to please send in a set of clean clothes for your child. This should include a t-shirt, pants, socks and underwear. I will store them in the classroom and in case of a spill or accident we will have a change of clothing and won't have to call home. If you ever have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to contact me! I look forward to working together with you to help make this a great year for your child. Mrs. Underhill
