June Newsletter 4D June 4-7   Math Assessment Please make sure your child continues to study their Math Facts and Strategies every night.  There will be 3 components of this assessment.  First will be the basic facts.  It is composed of 3 multiplication, 3 division, 3 addition, and 3 subtraction questions.  Students will have 1 minute to write the answers to all 12 questions. The second part will be Mental Math.  Students will not be timed on this section, but will have to explain their strategy.  Finally, students will be asked to solve equations and find the answers for questions on the strands covered in Math this year such as Geometry, Patterns and Equations, Measurement, etc.  Please make sure your child is well rested, has a white eraser and a pencil. June 8 We are going Geocaching at the Cove!  Students will be walking to the Eco Center where we will be dividing into groups to search for clues.  We will have our snack before we go, and eat our lunch at the Eco Center.  Please send in $4.00 to cover the cost of lunch.  I am also looking for Parent Volunteers.  So, if you are available that day, please send in a note with your child on Monday or Tuesday.  I look forward to seeing you:)
