As you are aware, the staff and students of Harkins Elementary are busy working on the "Wave Goodbye to Harkins" celebration. It is going to be a very busy and fun filled day! The school will be open to the public for student-guided tours on Thursday, May 26 from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm. Parents and relatives are welcome to come as well.

The following is the schedule for the day:

8:30 – 10:00 – K-5 will participate in outdoor activities

10:00 – 10:15 – Recess

10:30 – Opening ceremony

10:30 – 12:00 – K-2 continues with outdoor activities

Grade 3-5 conducts school tours for the public

12:00 – Lunch - The public will enjoy a light lunch, while the children enjoy pizza and milk compliments of the Home & School. There will be no cafeteria on this day.

1:00 – 2:00 – The tours will continue. There will also be a performance by the Heritage Players at 1:00 pm in the Gymnasium. The public is invited to attend this as well.

*Please apply sunscreen at home and have your child dressed appropriately for the weather.

We would like to send a big thank you to all the parents who have agreed to help with the luncheon by bringing sandwiches, sweets, fruit/veggie trays or donating money. Many hands make light work.

Although it is sad to see our wonderful school close, it is amazing to see everyone come together to celebrate all the happy memories that have been created over the years.
